KBS 2TV situation drama 'Hope for Dating' which aired on the 12th concluded with a reunion between Ju Yeon Ae and Cha Gi Dae after parting with their respective partners.
On the second day of broadcast, Ju Yeon Ae-Jung Jin Guk couple and Cha Gi Dae-Choi Sae Rom couple both spent a holiday night in the same pension. They dreamt of a romantic night but it couldn't materialise into reality.
Ju Yeon Ae abandoned Jung Jin Guk who fell asleep after getting drunk on wine and immediately went towards the lighthouse. Because she previously said to meet with Cha Gi Dae at the lighthouse. At the same time, after buying some time Cha Gi Dae went to wait for Ju Yeon Ae at the lighthouse but Choi Sae Rom appeared. Choi Sae Rom expressed her disappointment towards Cha Gi Dae.
She said "It hurts a girl's pride to bring up the topic of marriage first. Give me assurance.". Just like how the romance was oriented towards Choi Sae Rom's preference, she thought that she would receive a proposal during the holiday trip from Cha Gi Dae, whom she liked because of his qualities such as his grades and appearance etc.
Ju Yeon Ae arrived at the lighthouse after Cha Gi Dae had left. She slept at the lighthouse until daybreak. Once again Cha Gi Dae and Ju Yeon Ae missed each other. Then, a sudden reversal appeared. There were 2 lighthouses. Both of them were waiting at a different lighthouse.
Just as Ju Yeon Ae and Cha Gi Dae's meeting began through SNS, there was some gap with the real world. Unlike Ju Yeon Ae who was sick of trivial questions from guys, Cha Gi Dae was having difficulties with Choi Sae Rom who demanded him to act as he deemed fit.
Through both characters, it is evident that men and women had different emphases. Both Ju Yeon Ae and Cha Gi Dae couple had a date in Namsan. Jung Jin Guk requested for other peoples' help to prepare a romantic event. While Cha Gi Dae and Ju Yeon Ae had their first meeting without knowing about each others' identity.
At Namsan, the couples eventually spilled all that they had been accumulating. Ju Yeon Ae revealed to Jung Jin Guk about her frustrations. Jung Jin Guk also confessed everything that he was tolerating all these while. He expressed sadness at how Ju Yeon Ae was always looking at her handphone even when she was with him.
Cha Gi Dae said "I'm going to be married soon. But I'm unsure.". Both of them began to realise that their hearts were shaken. In order to regain their sense of reality, they decided to grow apart. Although they were separated for a while, they couldn't forget each other. Ju Yeon Ae who dreamt of an ordinary romance parted with Jung Jin Guk, while Cha Gi Dae who got tired of reality broke off his marriage with Choi Sae Rom.
Ju Yeon Ae turned her back on Jung Jin Guk who sincerely loved her, she showed apologetic while looking at Jung Jin Guk who was screaming madly, just like how she was in the past. And she grew up even more. She mumbled to herself "My trampled ego was more important than anything in the past".
Ju Yeon Ae and Cha Gi Dae had the intention to confess their hearts when they meet again, but Jung Jin Guk came between them. Just like how Ju Yeon Ae was in the past. At that time Ju Yeon Ae had Jung Jin Guk, and Cha Gi Dae left for their sake.
As time changed to 4 years later, Cha Gi Dae could be seen in a restaurant. There, he reunited with Ju Yeon Ae. Both of them looked at each other with a subtle expression, and the production ended. The conclusion brought to mind a happy ending.

Some lines made young males and females nod their head in agreement, "What can you gain from winning the person you love?", "Guys don't look behind, in front, or to their sides, undoubtedly they should look towards fulfilling their goals and run towards it", "Dating is pretty expensive", "If you love me, why don't you know?", "You think only girls get hurt while dating?", "A game where the side who loves more loses" etc.

'Hope for Dating' towards full-length? "Completed script for episode 11..Weekly drama"

KBS drama maker director Lee Kang Hyeon revealed to Star News on the 13th "Praises for the acting in 'Hope for Dating', execution of the drama etc received positive evaluations internally" and "currently we are in the midst of discussions regarding a regular serial".
Singer BoA's first local drama starring 'Hope for Dating' aired on the 11~12th, their acting harmony was perfect with BoA as 'Ju Yeon Ae' and Choi Daniel as 'Cha Gi Dae'. An honest depiction of romance story of people in their 20s by BoA, Choi Daniel, Im Si Wan, and Kim Ji Won drew praises from the viewers.
Director Lee also said "But the fact is that viewership is too low to air it in the Wed-Thu mini series timeslot (Episode 1 3.0%, Episode 2 3.2%)" and "We will air it again in another timeslot as a test, more deliberation is needed regarding the viewership rates".
A situation where it is possible to immediately go into full production, director Lee said 'Not counting the 2 pilot episodes which aired, the script for episode 10~11 is already complete" and "As we prepared it with the idea of airing 1 episode a week, the possibility of it becoming a weekly serial like 'Love And War' is high. In this way, we can adopt the format of having new actors every episode, with BoA and Choi Daniel as the leads."
Director Lee said "You can see the university life etc private stories of the main leads from the 2-part pilot." and "In the regular broadcast, over time you can see the romance stories and experiences of the main leads in their working life etc."
In the case that 'Hope for Dating' becomes a weekly drama, it might be aired as a Mon~Thu mini series although there are obvious benefits of being aired on Fri, there is also a possibility of it being in another timeslot.

Some fans came as early as 11am. Close to 30 fans were waiting near the VIP exit, they brought balloons to welcome BoA, and there were 10 policemen and 10 airport security officials on standby. Around 1pm, 2 airport staff pushed the luggage out first, followed by BoA who wore black sunglasses, a green shirt, jeans and white flats. Not off key even once throughout the entire concert. From encore to the final song, after putting up a perfect live concert lasting a full two and a half hours, BoA’s voice began to shake because she was touched. “After experiencing much difficulty, I finally held my concert after 13 years.” Just as she held back her agitated tears as she spoke, The concert she held in Seoul on 26,27 January in Seoul Olympic Park Hall BoA Special Live 2013 ~Here I am~”, was the first solo concert BoA held in Korea after 15 years of debut since 2000.

공연하는동안 단 한번의 실수도 없었다. 앵콜부터 마지막곡까지, 2시간반동안의 완벽한 라이브공연을 마무리하고 보아의 목소리는 감동받은듯 흔들렸다. “우여곡절끝에, 13년 만에 드디어 콘서트했어요.” 그녀는 억지로 눈물이 참는것 같았다. 1월26,27일 서울올림픽공원홀에서 하는 BoA Special Live 2013 ~Here I am~ 콘서트는, 2000년 15살에 데뷔한 이후로 부터 지금까지 처음으로하는 한국 솔로콘서트였다. 
During the time she was active in Japan, BoA would
hold annual performances in venues which can accommodate tens of thousands. However,
during her solo concert held in Korea, she hoped that the focus of the
performance would be on “listening to the song”, and not on the scale of the
concert or fanciful visual effects. BoA expressed: “I guess many audience were
looking forward to a performance where I fly here and there, but as a first
solo concert I hope more to share the joy of music with my fans.” Therefore,
BoA completed the entire show without a guest performer, and had the band and
backup dancers to fill the void between performances. In <Hurricane Venus>
and her representative American songs <Eat You Up> and <Energetic>,
she presented explosive dances and a stable live performance. Followed by
ballads such as <Implode>, <Waiting…> etc, she showed off her calm
yet unexpectedly explosive singing skills.

off BoA’s varied stage performancesAs the
first solo concert BoA held in Korea, it is a little regretful that not many of
the songs which she received love for in the early days of promoting in Korea
were included in the setlist. However, BoA who released 7 full-length albums
each in Korea and Japan, and even a full-length debut album in America, took
the chance to present her versatility. While reminiscing on the activities she
did when she was younger, BoA jokingly said: “As someone who is almost turning
30, you can’t possibly have me wearing goggles and singing <Atlantis
Princess> right?”. Then BoA sang <Hope> from her 7th Korean
album, her eyes brimming with tears, she said this is “like my life song”. This
is a sneak peek into the growth process filled with tears and sweat that she put in for the stage in the past 13 years. “Pointy and good-for-nothing square wheel, if you cut off the edges I guess it'll become round. awaited 10th anniversary single is complete!
Excite:
Your 10th anniversary single “Milestone” will be released soon.
BoA:
“Milestone” is a road post, a marking of how far one has come. The lyrics
roughly depicts: “the world is moving especially fast, it feels like one will
occasionally feel a sense of failure right? But now, be no longer afraid of
this feeling. In terms of the past and future, step forward bravely and with
hard work, although you must hold on to your current self, never forget your
past self, and work even harder.”
Excite:
With regards to the lyrics of “Milestone”, don’t you feel that it is very
similar to your current situation?
BoA: Japanese
ballads, in majority are gentle and plain. The lyrics for this song are not
plain, but it also isn’t straightforward, it kind of portrays reality. And so
that’s why, the lyrics feel especially touching – there is a optimistic side,
and there is also a sad side. My journey up till today, I’m sure there are
people who wonder what will happen after today, I hope they can listen to this
song.
Excite: The
tune is also simple, and so it will have the feeling of creeping into hearts.
BoA: It’s
like a talking song. Maybe a little brighter. I kept feeling that maybe because
there are less modulations, as compared to holding the notes longer, I think it
would be easier to express the singer’s emotions by singing it lightly, like
talking.
Excite: The
music video is composed of BoA’s multiple expressions
BoA:
“Listening to song” Although it is only one scene, it was also the product of
compiling many videos taken in different places. After shooting the cover of
the new single in Japan, because I had to go for SMTown NYC, I then went to the
market in NY, and after that, I specially filmed the taxi scene in Japan.
Excite: The
expression in the taxi scene also left a deep impression.
BoA:
Really!? Actually I even ran on that street before, it was unexpectedly short
(laugh).
Excite: From
the conversation with your hairstylists and beauticians, I saw BoA without
makeup from within a gap.
BoA: Isn’t
that something you can see normally?
Excite: I
don’t mean that (laugh). That sentence can also be seen as “you’re maintaining
good rhythm now”.
BoA: To
have this kind of feeling is something recent. Last year was my 10th
debut anniversary in Korea, and I released a long-awaited 5th album,
also because I debuted in America before that, I have been traveling to and fro
between Korea, Japan, and America. Last year I even went to Toronto in Canada
to film a movie, and so my Korean and Japanese schedules are practically empty,
I heard even the staff were idle (laugh). It was to ensure that I could
concentrate on filming the movie. After that ended, I then spoke to the staff
about the single, and our ideas were the same: “To concentrate and create a
high quality product”. We were to start production after arranging our schedules
properly. Because there were a lot of sample songs to choose from, and so we
carefully picked this song from all those.
Excite:
From your very long black hair and delicate expressions showed in the MV this
time, it seems like you have matured a lot. We first met when you were 15 years
old right.
BoA:
(laughs shyly) last year, I dyed my hair gold in Korea, then, I got tired of
dying my hair. To dye it black is also a requirement for my character in the
movie, and also because I liked it a lot, so I just kept growing out my hair in
black (laugh).
Excite: Are
you both happy and satisfied?
BoA: More
than the proportion of being satisfied, I think I’m slightly happier (laugh).
Excite: You
celebrated your birthday in November, so you are already 25 years old. Do you
have any expectations for the second half of your 20s?
BoA: hmm…I want
to spend my late twenties comfortably. I have always been busy up till today, I
feel that I didn’t have time to think what I want to do, I just kept focusing
on the things that I had to complete.
It’s like
that…how do people want to spend their late twenties?
Excite: I
guess…, it begins from thinking about your lifestyle or goals something like
that.
BoA: Well
then. But the priority in my plan can only be work. The world is changing so
fast I can hardly catch up. As the internet becomes more prevalent, it feels
that the people whom you see on TV gradually become different, in order to
cater to this generation I have to work even harder. Because of this, I end up
doing what I need to madly, and like this, one year seems to pass really fast.
Excite:
This are your true feelings?
BoA: Yes. I
keep feeling a sense of responsibility towards the artist named BoA, and so I
begin to work hard. After today I will continue to work hard, while I enjoy at
the same time, I’ll work happily. Up till today I have accumulated different
experiences in each country, so regardless what I do I enjoy it very much.
Regardless who it is, they will feel stressed at work, the only difference is
whether your attitude is positive or negative.
Excite: I
would also like to ask since this year is almost ending. What is the special
impression that this year’s activities left on you?
BoA: First
time acting in a movie. When I’m active as a singer there are different staffs
helping out, but eventually the person who completes the product is only you,
one person. In the movie there are many different actors and staffs working
together to finish a production, and because all have the same goal, it feels
both fresh and interesting.
Excite: At
the same time as BoA was active in America, your juniors became extremely
popular KPOP artists in Japan.
BoA:
Everyone also works hard. When I first debut, because nobody had the same
standing as me, and thus people will be left with the impression that I was
“from Korea”. But now the situation is different, just based on this point,
therefore we have different kinds of pains and difficulties.
Excite: So
it is like that. The live that you hold without fail every year end, is also a
special anniversary for your 10th anniversary right?
BoA: Yes it
is. It is slightly different from “previous” x’mas lives, but it also has a
similar feeling to “previous” live? I
guess (laugh). Of course, once there is Christmas atmosphere, people will think
of “Meri Kuri” (laugh). To say it like that, maybe it is an appropriate time to
hear it! At that time the conditions were not right, I really wanted to have a
nationwide tour concert. And so I continued with X’mas live, this time with an
added element of my 10th anniversary. I believe it will be an
extremely happy live. In addition to “Milestone”, I have already released 31
singles. So, to sing so many songs require a considerable amount of time, I’m
currently considering which songs to pick, and how to arrange their sequence.
Excite:
Then lastly, talk about your wishes for and things you would like to challenge
in 2012.
BoA: I keep
getting asked this question recently…, what is there. Singing, dancing, writing
lyrics, writing songs, I even became a producer in my previous work. This year
I also challenged acting, now I also took on a job as a judge. After completing
all these, what will happen next?
Excite: Exactly!
How about enriching your personal life?
BoA:
ahahaha… …well actually I really hope to enrich my personal life. But where
will a casual encounter occur? I really want to know. I guess these are those are
all degrading… right (bitter laugh). Of course I still have hope. But the gap
with reality is just too wide. I hope to slowly fill these bits of gap (laugh).

A: That job came about simply . At that time SM had a promotion for Hyundai cars and they needed a musician to rap in BoA's and Jessica's (of Girls' Generation) music. So the A&R in-charge of SM recommended me and we had a negotiate. It worked out like that.
Q: I heard that you have been BoA's fan for a while(laugh)
A: Yes, that's right. Honestly I don't have much interest in the pop music industry. I don't actually now that much about BoA's music, but somehow the feeling was good so I liked her since high school.(laugh)
Q: Then it must have been pretty fun working on this.(laugh)
A: But we were not able to record together. When the song completed recording, I was overseas with Dok2(/trans note: another Korean rapper who featured on PYL album). So as soon as we returned to Korea I did my individual recording, not long after the song was released, we did the performance at Hyundai's promotional event then did we meet.
Q: Did the standard of the piece satisfy you?
A: Yes, I did it with no burden. Fortunately the other party did not have any special requests. For example, having to write lyrics to suit the advertising style, there was nothing like that and so I worked on this with a peaceful mind.

"Living as an artist, my life "
She said that becoming an adult is “Something that made me accept reality”. As she learned Japanese way before the Hallyu boom began in Japan, singing in Japanese, she opened the doors for female artists. The song that BoA released after about 2.5 years is a love song that tugs firmly at your heart with lyrics that females of all ages can identify with and a melody filled with sadness. With that, the transition from a teen girl to a matured female can be felt again.
“I’m aware that living as an artist is my life, and has been since my mid-teens. Once you become a celebrity, you’ll be seen as your celebrity image for a lifetime isn’t it? Even if you return as a normal person, the world won’t see you in the same light. So rather than accepting that as it is, I think it that by growing oneself you can live an even better life, whether as a person or an artist.”
I decided to walk this path during my mid-teens. Although the strength of that will was exceptional, she muttered “However, won’t everyone have the thought of wanting to grow as a person?”.
“Although it is a world where waves of good times and bad times are especially rough, to accept the waves as they are, that’s what I think”
“The entertainment world is an industry with extreme waves of times when you are popular and times when you are not as popular. But, I think since this is inevitable, I shall accept and go with the flow! (laugh). There are times when I don’t do as well, during times when I do well I also wonder how am I going to progress to the next peak.. because this is also part of the job. During times when I feel depressed, I think something must have gone wrong after all right? So, it might be possible to grow again after getting rid of the root cause.”
As a 26-year-old, even though you can feel her character as a star, it’s only extremely recently that her thoughts can be expressed clearly in words. During her mid-teens, there was no time to for self-reflection, anyhow she was devoted such that she lost herself. As she came to her mid-twenties, although unpleasant events occurred while she was in the US, she came to accept that “there are times like this” and the reality at that point in time.
“Rather than being an artist who was going to debut in the US, the fact that I was able to have a normal life as a person in the US was greater. Only it was quite a big deal having to studying English in my twenties. I was still in my teens when I learned Japanese, so although my mistakes were overlooked as being “cute”, people won’t pamper me that way anymore in my twenties.”
Through improving language proficiency, the chances of meeting a good creator would be higher. The couple Nappytabs were asked to choreograph the new single “Only One”, by which they met through the Hollywood movie “COBU 3D” starring BoA.
“This time I wanted to create a type of song which can be listened to soothly. But in order to maintain the image that everyone has of me, I wanted to present a cool dance.”
In order to introduce the motivation she received in the US in her Asian activities, be it in Korea or Japan, she continued presenting cutting edge performances. Even so, where does the ambition for always presenting the best come from?
“After tasting the feeling of an intense sense of achievement once, I feel like experiencing it again. Like an addiction (laughs) I hope that fans who come to see my live performances continue to have the feeling "I want to see you again". In order not to betray the faith of those people, I feel a responsibility to release music and create good stages. In order to do that, I am willing do everything. But, I wouldn’t recommend this kind of thinking or life to others. Because I feel I think like that only due to the fact that I’m doing this kind of job where I have to present myself to others.”

When talking about topics related to her job, although she has a professional’s look, it feels like a private conversation where you can see her 26-year-old real self. Known to be a person who loves dramas, originating from Korean fans, she was given the nickname "dried fish woman" after a Japanese manga character .
“I asked around what that term meant and after I heard it meant "a female who is super workaholic when outdoors, and watches drama alone when she is home", I thought "Ah, maybe!" (laughs).”

It is uncommon that a female is so career-minded (i.e., workaholic). But, there was no showiness as compared to that confidence, only a person walking quickly on the path she chose.
“I think there’s probably a 100-year-old grandfather living inside me”

"Living as an artist, my life "
She said that becoming an adult is “Something that made me accept reality”. As she learned Japanese way before the Hallyu boom began in Japan, singing in Japanese, she opened the doors for female artists. The song that BoA released after about 2.5 years is a love song that tugs firmly at your heart with lyrics that females of all ages can identify with and a melody filled with sadness. With that, the transition from a teen girl to a matured female can be felt again.
“I’m aware that living as an artist is my life, and has been since my mid-teens. Once you become a celebrity, you’ll be seen as your celebrity image for a lifetime isn’t it? Even if you return as a normal person, the world won’t see you in the same light. So rather than accepting that as it is, I think it that by growing oneself you can live an even better life, whether as a person or an artist.”
I decided to walk this path during my mid-teens. Although the strength of that will was exceptional, she muttered “However, won’t everyone have the thought of wanting to grow as a person?”.
“Although it is a world where waves of good times and bad times are especially rough, to accept the waves as they are, that’s what I think”
“The entertainment world is an industry with extreme waves of times when you are popular and times when you are not as popular. But, I think since this is inevitable, I shall accept and go with the flow! (laugh). There are times when I don’t do as well, during times when I do well I also wonder how am I going to progress to the next peak.. because this is also part of the job. During times when I feel depressed, I think something must have gone wrong after all right? So, it might be possible to grow again after getting rid of the root cause.”
As a 26-year-old, even though you can feel her character as a star, it’s only extremely recently that her thoughts can be expressed clearly in words. During her mid-teens, there was no time to for self-reflection, anyhow she was devoted such that she lost herself. As she came to her mid-twenties, although unpleasant events occurred while she was in the US, she came to accept that “there are times like this” and the reality at that point in time.
“Rather than being an artist who was going to debut in the US, the fact that I was able to have a normal life as a person in the US was greater. Only it was quite a big deal having to studying English in my twenties. I was still in my teens when I learned Japanese, so although my mistakes were overlooked as being “cute”, people won’t pamper me that way anymore in my twenties.”
Through improving language proficiency, the chances of meeting a good creator would be higher. The couple Nappytabs were asked to choreograph the new single “Only One”, by which they met through the Hollywood movie “COBU 3D” starring BoA.
“This time I wanted to create a type of song which can be listened to soothly. But in order to maintain the image that everyone has of me, I wanted to present a cool dance.”
In order to introduce the motivation she received in the US in her Asian activities, be it in Korea or Japan, she continued presenting cutting edge performances. Even so, where does the ambition for always presenting the best come from?
“After tasting the feeling of an intense sense of achievement once, I feel like experiencing it again. Like an addiction (laughs) I hope that fans who come to see my live performances continue to have the feeling "I want to see you again". In order not to betray the faith of those people, I feel a responsibility to release music and create good stages. In order to do that, I am willing do everything. But, I wouldn’t recommend this kind of thinking or life to others. Because I feel I think like that only due to the fact that I’m doing this kind of job where I have to present myself to others.”
